This means that when you are not getting enough sleep then your body will fail to go through these natural processes and in turn affects your heart health.

On average, adults need about 8 hours of quality sleep every day while teens and children require even more. If you find that you wake up the next day feeling tired and wanting to take another nap, chances are that you didn't get enough sleep. 

There are a number of heart-related benefits that you can get by just having a good night's sleep. Some of these benefits include reducing your chances of getting heart disease, boosting your immunity, and preventing diabetes among many others. 

According to many past studies, people who don't get enough sleep over time develop conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity. Generally, high blood pressure is one of the main causes of various cardiovascular diseases. Likewise, there are sleep related problems that can also affect your heart health. Some of the most common sleep conditions are the sleep apnea which tends to affect how much oxygen the body gets while asleep and insomnia which increases stress levels. When you realize that you have symptoms of sleeping disorder, it is important to let your cardiologist know about this. Your cardiologist will then use a holter monitor to screen you for potential heart diseases. Apart from that, you should also treat sleep apnea, reduce stress levels, follow a regular sleeping pattern, eat a good healthy heart diet and exercise well.
