Facebook Bans BJP Politicians From Making Hate Speech #News

New Delhi: Facebook prohibits outspoken politicians from spreading hate speeches about Muslims.

A Facebook spokesperson said that the regional legislator of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ruling party, T. Raja Singh, was “blocked because it violates our policy and prohibits incitement or engaging in violence and People who hate behavior appear on our platform."

A spokesman added that he decided to block Raja Singh according to an "extensive" process.

Raja, who made the headline reportedly saying that Muslim Rohingya refugees from Myanmar should be shot dead, will now be on the "dangerous individuals" Facebook list.

He told AFP that he was going to fight back against the ban, and Facebook’s move was an attack on Modi’s Hindu nationalist Baratiya Janata.

Raja Singh said: "They (Facebook) are targeting BJP through me," and he called the ban "absolutely wrong."

He said: "This is a deliberate move against the Japanese People's Party."

In the frenetic political battlefield in India, Facebook has fallen into the prejudice of both sides. In terms of the number of users, India is the largest market for American companies.
